News... 2026... 10 wins over the Christmas Break!
After my first TV pilot script, Foxton Hall, won the BEST TELEVISION SCRIPT AWARD in a global competition last November, it has had a flurry of awards over the Christmas break. What a surprise! One minute I am laden with laundry and shopping for family food (a never-ending cycle of re-stocking empty cupboards) and the next I am wondering when I will ditch domesticity and get back to my lovely laptop!
Because Foxton Hall is a 'Coming of Age' Regency Romance, I am writing it to be more inclusive and diverse than normal romance dramas, including storylines about disability and mental wellbeing, as well as racism and classism.
I feel that representing the underrepresented is essential for what could become a global infinite SVOD serial. We all need to see ourselves reflected in what we watch, not just the privileged few... This year I will start writing Foxton Hall as a series of novels, to develop the brand and secure the I.P.
I am currently working on the pitch deck for an 8 hour season for a Post Apocalyptic Horror Sci-Fi infinite SVOD TV series: Last Apocalypse. The pilot and season synopsis are already ready. This year, I want it to be used as a project for University students to develop with me as a Game Mechanics PoC ('proof of concept') now that I have finally finished the Games' Design Document and even know what branching loops are!
My first fully produced micro short, Olympian, started its festival entries with a solid win for its work on disability issues. Hopefully it will get into some UK festivals so the whole team can go and watch it together. It is directed by Simon Jenner, produced by 494 films and the executive producer is Focus Consulting Group. You can find it on IMDb, but festival screenings will take place before we can release it for general viewing.
I have also rewritten the short script that gained me a place on Screen Cornwall & the BFI's New Writers' Network S.W. Cohort 2025. Now named Did Alan Call? it has been recorded by award winning voiceover artist Margaret Ashley and is available to hear for free as an Audio Screenplay on the Streaming Platform Outwrd

Emily's Motivation...
Embrace & Celebrate Inclusion:
Because I have disabilities (hEDS, PoTS 3, CFS, Osteoarthritis, MCAS, Crohns, Raynauds, Asthma, Annaphylaxis), I want to create characters that reflect inclusion and diversity:
" My work embodies a culture of celebrating diversity across all genres. I write subtle narrative and character arcs that include under-represented people in my films and television series. as well as my Children's Books"
